ד"ר אורית הרשקוביץ הינה עמית הוראה בכירה ועמית מחקר חבר (Senior Research Associate).

בשני העשורים האחרונים ד"ר הרשקוביץ מעורבת במחקרים הקשורים בהתפתחות מקצועית של מורי מדעים בכלל ומורי כימיה בפרט, פיתוח והערכה של חומרי לימוד מבוססי חשיבה ברמה גבוהה בסביבה עתירת טכנולוגיה. במסגרת זו עסקה בפיתוח, יישום והערכה של ארבע יחידות לימוד לתלמידי כימיה ומדעים וכן פירסמה עם עמיתים מאמרים בכיתבי עת בינלאומיים ובארץ. ד"ר הרשקוביץ שמשה כמנהלת מיטב – המרכז הארצי למורי מדע וטכנולוגיה בחברה (מוט"ב) בין השנים 2011 – 2013.

ד"ר הרשקוביץ מרכזת את כל השתלמויות מורי כימיה בפקולטה, מנחה סטודנטים לתארים גבוהים ומלמדת קורסי הסמכה ומוסמכים בפקולטה.

משנת 2017 ד"ר הרשקוביץ היא ראש היחידה לכניסה להוראה בפקולטה.
