Congratulations to Dr. Tali Tal, who has been recognized as one of our 2026 NARST Fellows! The NARST Fellows Program honors and recognizes members for their exceptional contribution to, and excellence in, research and service to the NARST community.

Dr. Tali Tal is a the Ruben and Tallu Rosen Academic Chair in Science at Technion University in Israel. With over 25 years in science education, Dr. Tal has conducted extensive research focused on environmental issues, most notably climate change. This work is distinguished by its integrative nature and involves many collaborators. She has published extensively, over 75 articles, in a diverse array of journals, presented at many conferences, and been awarded over 30 grants. She has mentored over 20 Ph.D. students as well as masters students. Her outstanding work has been recognized by the awarding of more than 8 awards of recognition. Her nominator wrote “She continues to influence the lives of students, teachers, and citizens. Many of her former students are now themselves leaders in social-environmental activism.” She has been involved in NARST in many capacities from committee service, JRST Associate Editor, Abell Mentor, and NARST President in 2019-2020. Through the NARST Fellows Award, Dr. Tal is recognized for her outstanding research, impact on classroom practice, leadership in science education and mentorship for the science education community.
