Research Goals and topics: The Mindful Learning Technologies Group in the Department of Education in Science and Technology
focuses on gaining a better understanding of the mechanism of learning and its relationship to affect, with a focus on learning complex domains, such as in Computer Science Education.
The group takes an interdisciplinary perspective to investigate instructional theories and strategies using various learning technology tools. In particular, we are is interested in investigating the potential of student-robot and child-robot interaction to enable deeper learning through social cognitive and emotional cognitive mechanisms.
