The environmental and outdoor education research group studies scientific and environmental literacy for all, education for sustainability and learning in natural and other out-of-school environments. Our studies focus on school and college students and on adults, assuming that learning is a lifelong process that takes place mainly out of formal classrooms. The graduate students of the group come from various disciplines and backgrounds and their studies are in science and biology education and in environmental education. We collaborate with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry for Environmental Protection and environmental organizations in developing curricula and professional development under the approach that views learning in and out-of-school as a continuum of characteristics
