Shuly is an associate professor at the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology at the Technion, where she leads the physics education track. She is also one of the incoming associate editors (as of January 2020) of the Journal of Research in Science Teaching.
Shuly is interested in the interrelations between instruction and learning. Her current work mainly focuses on students’ sensemaking of and with physics, the development and appropriation of disciplinary-based epistemic practices and habits of mind, and physics teacher education.
