Dr. Rinat Rosenberg-Kima is a faculty member at the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology in the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Rinat holds a BA in Computer Science and Economics from Tel-Aviv University (Magna cum Laude, 1999), an MA in Psychology from Tel-Aviv University (Magna cum Laude, 2004), and a PhD in Educational Psychology and Learning Systems from Florida State University. After her PhD, Rinat moved to do her postdoc at the Lawrence Hall of Science in UC Berkeley, where she worked on a digital curriculum for middle school science education and lead the Analytics team. After 10 years in the USA Rinat moved back to Israel and conducted research on educational social robots that facilitates small group discussions as part of another postdoc at the Faculty of Engineering at Tel-Aviv University. For this study she won Sagol School of Neuroscience’s Minducate scholarship and a fund from Schmidt Futures program. In between Rinat taught various courses in the department of Computer Sciences at the Open University, Israel and developed and programmed various educational software. Her research areas include Learning Sciences, Learning Systems Design, Human-Robot Interaction, Computer Science Education, Learning Analytics, and Educational Data Mining.
